“Of course. I told them I’m bringing you home with me,” Sebastian said.
Bella asked tentatively, “And… what did they say?”
Sebastian remembered the phone call. His father had cursed him out before hanging up.
His mother had been more receptive, or at least less hostile. She hadn't said much, only that he was welcome to come see the children.
She hadn't explicitly said yes or no about him bringing Bella.
Since she didn't say no, he decided to take that as a yes.
“Bella, we just have to take it slow. You’re so wonderful and talented, my parents will come around eventually. They just need to spend more time with you, get to know you, and then they’ll start to like you.”
Bella scoffed internally. Like her? Impossible.
She knew that path was a dead end anyway. She already had her own plans in motion.
If the marriage went smoothly, she would keep quiet about Debbie for now.
But if the Blakes stood in her way and complicated her marriage to Sebastian, then she’d have no choice but to send Debbie to the Blake estate to become its new matriarch.
That would certainly stop anyone from interfering with her and Sebastian’s wedding.
Though these thoughts raced through her mind, Bella didn’t let any of it show on her face.
She looked at Sebastian with a gentle smile and nodded obediently. “Thank you, Sebastian. You’re always looking out for me.”
Sebastian had just stepped out of the office when Bella’s phone rang.
She saw the name ‘Debbie’ flash on the screen and her heart skipped a beat.
She had just been thinking about her, and now she was calling.
Besides, it was still early morning. Wasn't Debbie usually asleep at this hour?
Had the night owl suddenly changed her sleep schedule?
