Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 420

Debbie hadn't expected that casually borrowing thirty million would lead the casino's lenders to offer her such a huge line of credit.

Suddenly, her opinion of Bella improved dramatically.

Still, she thought, thirty million isn't that much. It's all his money anyway; it's just moving from one pocket to another.

With that in mind, Debbie figured that even if she couldn't pay Bella back, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Back at the hotel, the first thing Debbie did wasn't get some much-needed sleep. Instead, she showered, brushed her teeth, changed her clothes, and then called Bella.

The moment the call connected, her voice softened. “Bella, dear, I'm done with my business. My friend went off to handle her own affairs today. Why don't you come to the hotel and keep me company? I can have the concierge send a car to pick you up, how about that?”

Bella had been fuming at home. The house was clean, but it had cost her several thousand dollars. She hadn't had a single bite of hot food all evening, just some fruit and water, and she was still angry.

Receiving this call felt like a lifeline, and she immediately agreed.

It was a chance to escape being alone and strengthen her relationship with Debbie. It was perfect.

At the hotel, Debbie had the concierge prepare a huge spread of late-night snacks and two bottles of high-end red wine.

By the time Bella arrived, the wine had already been decanted.

As she walked in, Debbie gave her a big hug.

“Bella, on behalf of my friend, thank you. You were a huge help today. If it weren't for that thirty million arriving so quickly, things could have gotten really serious.”

With that, Debbie handed her a glass of wine.

Bella was feeling quite pleased with herself.

Helping out wouldn't cost her much, but it would show Debbie her goodwill and strengthen their bond, making it easier to get Debbie's help against the old Blakes in the future.
