“And I can’t even reach him now. What do I do?”
Lillian took a deep breath. “What do you do? You’re asking me what to do now? You’ve been by his side for so many years, and you don’t know him? And you’re asking me?
What you do is check the flight route, check the time, find out when and where he’s landing. Now!”
“But you, the police…” Ethan started.
Before he could finish, Lillian cut him off. “I can handle this myself. You go. Oh, and let me know the second you find out.”
Ethan nodded furiously. “Yes, yes, I’m on it.”
He hurried off to check the flight information.
Lillian let out a sharp breath. She couldn’t believe this.
She didn’t know if Leonard was recovering abroad or somewhere else in the country.
If he was abroad, the flight would be at least ten hours.
If he was in the country, even if he was far from Northwyn, it would only be a two- or three-hour flight.
She had originally planned to waste some time at the police station, maybe even spend the night to let certain people at the Mercer estate gloat a little longer.
It seemed that was no longer an option.
She glanced at her watch. Two hours, max. That was all the time she had.
In two hours, she needed to be ready to welcome Leonard home.
Lillian walked up to the officers. “Excuse me. Could you please prioritize my case? I’m sorry for the trouble, but I’m in a hurry.”
The officers exchanged confused glances.
