Sebastian was an outsider now, so Martin paid no mind to his words.
With Bella having already called the police, the situation had escalated. He frowned. At this point, it was difficult for him to interfere with the Mercer family's decision.
But the last time, they had sacrificed Lillian for Bella, sending her to prison for two years.
This time…
Sebastian decided he would consider this repaying a debt to her.
He turned and whispered a few words to one of his aides, telling him to pull some strings and see if he could help Lillian out.
She had nothing now. If he helped her this one time, it would be enough to repay all the love she had once given him.
Then he could marry Bella with a clear conscience.
He would have done right by Lillian. When the Blake elders found out, they surely couldn't say anything more or continue to stand in the way of his marriage to Bella.
Having made up his mind, Sebastian stopped interfering in the Mercer family's affairs, not wanting the judgmental gazes of outsiders to fall on him.
After giving instructions to his subordinate, Sebastian discreetly faded into the background.
Lillian, present for the whole ordeal, took in every detail, every expression on every face.
Sebastian had brought Noah with him today for Martin's birthday. However, ever since Noah had arrived, he had been trying to stay close to Bella. He had glanced at Lillian hopefully a few times, probably waiting for her to approach him.
Presumably, that little hopeful look was the positive result of the Blake elders' recent teachings.
But the boy was older now and had his own thoughts.
