Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 274

Evan stared at the message notification for a second, his brow furrowing slightly before smoothing out. He sent a text to Jason, then turned and went into his study.

Melissa had expected Evan to keep calling her nonstop, just like before. But after she sent that text, her phone remained silent.

No more calls, no more message alerts.

She picked up her phone, almost thinking the hospital's poor reception was to blame. But after refreshing several times and seeing no new messages, a fresh wave of anger and sadness washed over her.

Half an hour later, Jason arrived at Kingsbridge Park with a takeout dinner from The Central Bistro and rang the doorbell.

Evan came out of his study, opened the door, and motioned for Jason to come in.

"Set the table for me. I'm going to the washroom."

"Of course, Mr. Cooper."

After a long day at work, Jason found himself still serving his boss well past closing time. Some people, he thought, were just born unlucky.

When Evan came out of the washroom, the dinner was already laid out with utensils. He looked at Jason and asked, "Have you eaten?"

"...Yes, I've eaten, I've eaten."

In fact, he hadn't.

"Good. If there's nothing else, you can head home."

With no other instructions, Evan pulled out a chair and sat down.

Just as Jason was about to close the door, Evan spoke again. "By the way, have you made any payments to the hospital recently?"
