When Emma got home, her mother, Karen Hayes, and Kelly were in the kitchen looking over a recipe.
"What's for dinner tonight? It smells amazing!"
Emma headed straight for the kitchen, just like she did when she was a little girl.
Karen Hayes turned around, her face lighting up when she saw her daughter. "You were saying the other day you were tired of bone broth. Well, Kelly and I found a new recipe online today. Come try it!"
"What is it?"
Even though she couldn't see what kind of soup it was, the aroma was certainly delicious.
Emma walked over expectantly, but when she saw the contents of the clay pot, she suddenly felt faint.
"Mom! I don't eat liver!"
Emma wanted to scream. Simmering in the pot was a rich stew meant to be calming and nourishing.
A stew made with beef liver, pork, spinach, and dates.
Good heavens, making her eat liver was worse than death.
Emma waved her hands dismissively. "Mom, you know I can't eat liver."
"Who said you have to eat the liver? I'll eat the liver. You just drink the broth!" Karen was quite pleased with her creation. "Look, the broth is so rich and savory. You can tell how good it is just by the smell!"
Emma was at a loss for words.
"Alright, go wash your hands. It's almost time for dinner!"

The shareholder meeting didn't end until seven in the evening. It had started around noon, with the main agenda being the company's future development and a new project proposal.
On the way back, Evan was still on the phone with Daniel, discussing key points of the new project.
