Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 126

Nathan frowned slightly, feeling like he had seen the girl from before somewhere.

But because Melissa and Evan were embracing with their backs to him last night, and from a distance, Nathan didn't immediately recognize her.

A message notification sounded from the drawer. Nathan pulled it open, unlocked his phone, and saw it was from Vivian.

The tension in his heart immediately eased. Nathan scoffed, wondering what he had just been hoping for.

[Nathan, are you off work yet? A friend of my dad's gave him a huge wild-caught fish, and we're planning to steam it for dinner tonight. Are you free to come over?]

Before Nathan could reply, she quickly added another message—[Your parents are here, too.]

He glanced at his watch. It was already seven. He wasn't on call tonight, so if nothing else came up, he was free to leave.

However, the thought of going to the Lancaster family's home made him instinctively resistant. Every time he went, Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster treated him like a future son-in-law.

It wasn't that he disliked Vivian; he had always seen her as a little sister and had no other intentions.

Before Nathan could send his message declining the offer, his mother's call came through.

"Hello, Mom."

"Vivian just messaged you, asking if you were off work. If you're free, come over to the Lancasters' place. We're having dinner together."

Nathan opened his mouth, about to make an excuse, but Mrs. Allen cut him off bluntly, "I just spoke with Dr. Benjamin. He said you're not on call tonight and your shift is over. Just come over now, you'll be right on time for dinner."
