Eleven Years All to the Wrong Man novel Chapter 125

Seeing the message, Emma didn’t ignore it. She quickly typed a polite reply: [You don’t have to apologize, Mr. Allen. It wasn’t a big deal.]

After sending it, she turned off her phone and gazed out the window.

When Nathan saw her reply, he frowned. He really couldn't figure Emma out.

If she had no feelings for the man, why would she even consider keeping his child, knowing her own health was at risk? But if she did have feelings for him, how could she be so casual today after learning from him that her husband was cheating on her, simply saying, “It wasn’t a big deal”?

Nathan put his phone down. Not knowing what to say, he decided not to reply at all and put the phone back in his desk drawer.

He closed the drawer, took off his glasses, and leaned his elbows on the desk, pinching the bridge of his nose wearily. It was almost seven in the evening, and he still hadn’t eaten. He had no appetite.

Just as he closed his eyes to rest for a moment, he heard a knock on his office door.

Knock, knock, knock!

“Come in.”

Nathan put his glasses back on and looked toward the door. A young woman he didn't recognize walked in.

“Hello, are you Mr. Allen?” Melissa asked, entering timidly.

“Yes, I am. Can I help you with something?”

Nathan looked at her, searching his memory, but came up blank. He saw many patients every day, but he usually remembered a face after seeing it once.

“I... Mr. Scott from the 21st floor sent me to find you.”
