She and Evan had first met two months ago at the Evermore Hotel.

It was a cliché story. She was working part-time as a waitress when a drunk customer started harassing her, touching her thigh as she served a dish.

The Evermore International was the most famous hotel in all of Averton City. The people who came here were either rich or powerful. As an ordinary waitress, all she could do when faced with such harassment was try to subtly move away.

Because of this, the customer grew bolder, his hand nearly reaching up her skirt.

Melissa couldn't stand it anymore. She tried to refuse and leave the private room, but the drunk guest pulled her onto his lap.

There were many other people in that room. They all saw her reluctance. Through the haze of smoke, they either smirked or watched coldly. Not a single person was willing to help.

Just as she felt helpless and desperate, a voice came from the corner. “Mr. Grant, matters between a man and a woman should be consensual. What exactly are you trying to do in public?”

With that simple sentence, the man named Mr. Grant instantly let her go, a sheepish look on his face. He quickly raised his glass to the person in the corner as a sign of apology.

Melissa forgot how she got out of the room that day. As she fled in humiliation, she took one last glance toward the corner.

Later, after the dinner party ended, a well-dressed man found her and handed her a business card. It was only then that she learned that the youngest, most handsome man in that room was the renowned CEO of the Evanma Group.

Melissa was clearly distracted. Evan noticed but didn't feel like addressing it.

He walked straight back into the Hermès store. Seeing them return, the saleswoman immediately offered them water and desserts, asking if they wanted to rest for a bit.

Every clerk working here was sharp as a tack.
