Clutching her throbbing cheek, Natalia screamed, "Anya, are you out of your damn mind?"
Anya's fury wasn't even close to being satisfied. She grabbed a fistful of Natalia's hair and violently shoved her backward into the apartment. Slamming the door shut behind her, Anya sneered, "Why didn't you breathe a single word about getting kicked out of Azure Bay? Do you have any idea how completely humiliated I was today?"
Natalia forcefully shoved Anya off her and retaliated with a hard kick right to Anya's stomach. "Whether you get humiliated or not has absolutely nothing to do with me!"
Natalia was even more enraged than Anya. The night she was thrown out of Azure Bay, she had been left stranded in the freezing rain like a stray dog, with nowhere to go. Her only hope had been Anya, but Anya's phone had been turned off. When she tried calling the next day, Anya repeatedly hung up on her.
That deep, degrading humiliation was something Natalia would carry to her grave.
Anya hadn't expected the retaliation. Clutching her bruised stomach, her face twisted into a mask of pure rage. "Have you been sneaking around behind my back, trying to seduce Andres?"
At this point, Natalia couldn't be bothered to keep up the charade. "He was always mine to begin with."
Anya let out a bitter laugh. "As if you're worthy of a man like him."
"Worthy or not, you'll see the truth soon enough," Natalia replied with a terrifying level of supreme confidence.
That unwavering certainty instantly put Anya on high alert. She grabbed Natalia by the collar. "If you've already been kicked out of Azure Bay, what gives you the nerve to act so high and mighty? Did you and Landon Hart strike some secret deal?"
