"A harder hit would have better suited her striking elegance and that killer look in her eyes," Andres added.
Anya stared at him in sheer disbelief. "Mr. White, what Maeve did is illegal."
Andres casually tossed her phone back onto the table. He leaned back in his exclusive seat. "You actually thought you could threaten me with this ridiculous video?"
Anya settled into the chair across from him. "I don't think 'threaten' is the right word, Mr. White. I came here with a genuine desire to negotiate. I'm sure you've seen the online speculations regarding our relationship. To the public eye, we're a match made in heaven. If you agree to publicly confirm our relationship, I'll comply with any private demands you have. Otherwise, I'll release this video and let Maeve drown in cyberbullying."
Andres picked up his glass and took a slow sip. "You're threatening me?"
His unnervingly calm reaction made Anya's stomach drop. This wasn't how she had envisioned the meeting going. She had assumed the online pressure combined with Maeve's video would force him to yield. Instead, he remained completely unfazed.
Losing her momentum, Anya's voice wavered. "Mr. White, let me be completely honest with you." Given her current predicament, she didn't mind exposing her own family's dirty laundry. "My family's business is failing, and my parents want to marry me off for financial backing. I refuse to be carelessly married off to someone I don't love, which is why I had to resort to this. I'm begging you to help me just this once."
Andres let out a cold scoff. "The man Luka Morales wants you to marry is Warren, isn't it?"
