Chapter 452 A Voice of Authority
Amelia had no intention of letting the matter end so easily. Not a chance.
When the topic was brought up again, Sabrina’s expression shifted slightly.

Her mind raced as she searched for a response. Luckily, Brielle jumped in at once, launching into another sharp outburst.
“Don’t try to change the subject! Sabrina said your medicine is made of harsh ingredients. That means there’s a problem with it! And you still want to argue?”
“Enough!” Nydia finally snapped. She really couldn’t stand it anymore. “Even a miracle drug wouldn’t work this fast. Can’t you all just wait?”
Nydia had always been decisive and sharp-minded.
She was capable and well-educated, and since getting married, Nydia had helped her husband’s family run their business smoothly and successfully.
Nydia was not stupid. In fact, she was calm, logical, and clear-headed.
In her view, there was no way Amelia would dare to harm someone in public like this. And Jeremy was no fool either.
No matter how much he cared about a woman, he would never be dumb enough to help her commit a crime in such a reckless way.
If someone truly wanted to kill Cora, there were easier methods. They could bribe a doctor or simply wait.
Surgery alone carried huge risks. An elderly patient might not survive it.
If she didn’t make it, there would be no need to do anything else.
If she did survive, there would still be plenty of time to act later.
Because of that, Nydia thought her niece was unbelievably foolish.
As for Esmond, she couldn’t tell whether he was truly clueless or hiding other motives.
Just as the argument reached a deadlock, a figure stepped into the room.
“What’s all this noise about?”
The voice was calm and brief, yet filled with authority. It carried the unmistakable pressure of someone used to being in charge.
Everyone turned toward the sound. A tall, sharp-looking man dressed entirely in black walked in.
Some people didn’t recognize him. Most did.
Esmond’s expression tightened slightly. In the end, he still greeted him respectfully. “Professor Preston, what brings you here?”

Chapter 452 A Voice of Authority
Seeing Walter in person was shocking.

*Finished
He was a giant in the medical world, a figure few people ever met face-to-face. Whenever he traveled, he was escorted by elite state-assigned security. Wherever he went, it caused a stir.
And yet, here he was now. No grand entrance. No warning. Just appearing out of nowhere.
It left everyone stunned.
“Walter,” Amelia said softly and politely.
She was genuinely surprised. She hadn’t expected her mentor to show up so suddenly.
At this time, he should have been deep in research, working on a new drug to reduce side effects after serious medical treatments.
Had he already finished the project ahead of schedule?
“Mm.” Walter nodded at her, his expression calm.
But beneath that calm was a quiet kindness, something most people would never notice.
“I arrived just in time to hear what you were saying,” he said. “There’s nothing wrong with this medicine.”
“Yes, it does contain a few ingredients of cold nature,” he continued evenly. “But they are balanced with several warming ones. Together, they won’t harm the body.”
His words carried absolute authority. No one dared question him.
Unless someone in the room was stronger than him in both skill and academic standing.
Unfortunately, people like that were rare. Across the entire country, you could probably count them on one hand. Three at most.
Once Walter spoke, Brielle didn’t dare say another word.
She had already been completely overwhelmed by his presence.
No one else spoke either.
After that, Walter followed Amelia to check on Cora.
At this point, Cora was no longer coughing up dark blood but bright red blood instead. It was honestly frightening to see.
Earlier, there had been a large tray filled with dark blood, mixed with just a little bright red.
Now, however, Cora’s complexion had turned fully rosy again. Amelia inserted a few more needles with steady hands.
Not long after, Cora slowly opened her eyes.
Everyone watched as she slowly opened her eyes. It felt unbelievable.
