Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 578

“It’s my fault we couldn’t expose Marie’s lies today.”

Terence hadn't anticipated that Darren would bring a lab technician to frame Natalie. He had miscalculated.

He had already run a check; the technician’s identity was legitimate.

In that situation, Darren had already swayed the Wards. In their minds, they were convinced Natalie had set the whole thing up.

And since the technician was real, even if he managed to make her confess that Natalie hadn’t bribed her, Darren would just spin it as him using his power to intimidate the witness.

Richard and Elaine wouldn’t believe him. They would only believe Darren, thinking he had used his influence to coerce a confession.

Natalie looked at Terence. He was blaming himself, but how could it be his fault?

“It’s not your fault. In that moment, anything we said would have just sounded like excuses to them. It would have only convinced them further that I was behind it. Thank you for always helping me.”

Natalie felt a surge of gratitude for Terence. No matter what she tried to do, he was always there, helping her both openly and from the shadows. She knew that.

Terence watched her. She didn't seem overly emotional, but he knew she was hurting inside.

After all, Darren and Hanley had both thrown her under the bus for Marie’s sake.

Darren was one thing, but Hanley was her son. How could she not be affected?

She was just putting on a brave face.

“Let’s go home.”

The Lockwood Estate

“Terence, Natalie didn’t look right when she came back, and now she hasn’t come down for dinner. What happened today? I need to go check on her.”

Mrs. Lockwood was worried about Natalie and wanted to go see her, but Terence stopped her.

“I’ll go.”

That was fine. It was better for Terence to go anyway.
