Martha nodded. “Don’t worry.”
Oliver, not fully understanding, asked Edmund, “Didn’t Mom tell us to comfort Aunt Evelyn? Why aren’t we staying in the same room with them?”
Edmund, changing into his slippers, explained, “Tonight, Mom will probably drink with Aunt Evelyn to let her vent. Our turn to talk to her is tomorrow.”
Oliver understood. He changed his slippers too and joined Edmund to watch cartoons.
Martha asked them what they wanted to eat and ordered it for them. After dinner, she helped them get ready for bed.

Next door, Isabel and Evelyn also took showers. They ordered food and wine from room service.
Isabel wrapped an arm around Evelyn. “Eat and drink as much as you want. I’m rich.”
Evelyn leaned on her shoulder as they sat by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the city lights. The hotel’s main feature was its panoramic view of the city’s heart, a dazzling spectacle.
“I’ve eaten at that tower restaurant. The food’s just okay. It’s all about the height, just a gimmick.”
“I’ve never been,” Isabel said. “Maybe you can take me and the kids to see it tomorrow?”
Evelyn’s lips curved into a slight smile. “Sure.”
Knock, knock.
The door was knocked on.
Isabel went to open it, assuming it was room service. There was indeed a food cart, but the person delivering it was not a hotel employee.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to go back?”
Adrian was taken aback. He had come after getting a call from Julian, rushing over for fear of being too late. Her attitude completely confused him.
