Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 437

Isabel looked at Richard. “If you had someone you loved, and even had a child with her, why did you have to deceive Evelyn?”

Richard frowned. “It was an accident.”

Isabel stepped in front of Evelyn. “An accident?” she scoffed. “Don’t tell me you had a history with her but didn’t know she was pregnant. So for the sake of your career, you found Evelyn, a brilliant woman, to be your public face and help your business flourish, only to have this woman suddenly show up at your door with your child.”

Richard nodded. “That’s what happened.”

At least he wasn't lying anymore. However, Richard had been wealthy even before marrying Evelyn, so it might not have been purely for personal gain. But in the end, he had chosen the child and his mother over Evelyn.

“Are you getting a divorce?” she asked Evelyn.

“A divorce is definite, but I’m not just going to swallow this insult.” Evelyn pointed the baseball bat at the family of three. “Richard is an incompetent fool who got lucky with the money his ancestors left him. He’s terrible at business. Over the past three years, all those partnership offers came because I was the one who proposed the strategy: we only work with men who are married and devoted to their wives, as those partnerships are more stable.”

“I can earn that fortune myself.”

Isabel believed her. With Evelyn’s personality and capabilities—her sharp tongue, her good judgment, and her ability to adapt to any situation—she could have made a name for herself with any investor, not just Richard.

“How will the assets be divided?”

“Don’t worry,” Evelyn said. “I promised you that fortune, and you’ll get it. I’d rather lose out myself than let you down.”

She hefted the baseball bat and took a couple of steps forward. Richard quickly pulled the woman and child back.

Isabel noticed he hadn't called security, which meant he didn't want to burn all his bridges.

“Evelyn, smashing things is fine,” Isabel warned, implying she shouldn’t hit anyone.

“Do they look hurt to you?” Evelyn retorted. “You think they’d be standing there so peacefully otherwise? That’s me, showing a little mercy.”
