Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 600

Wendy hung up the phone and turned around, only to find West standing behind her.

She was a little surprised, but she quickly composed herself.

A faint smile touched her lips.

Just as she would on any normal day, she greeted him and prepared to head upstairs to pack.

"You're... moving out?" West's voice came from behind her just as she turned.

Wendy's steps faltered. She turned back, the smile still on her face, her voice calm and steady.

"Yeah, that's right. I've found a place. I'll be moving in the next couple of days."

A flash of surprise crossed West's face, but it couldn't hide the disappointment in his eyes.

"Weren't you comfortable here? Why the sudden decision to move?"

"It's closer to my office, just across the street. More convenient," Wendy said with a natural shrug.

Just as Wendy was about to turn away again,

West spoke once more.

"Can you not go?"

He looked directly into her eyes.

Those five words.

Clear and heart-stopping.

Wendy's gaze met West's head-on.

His look was scorching, intense.

In that instant, it felt as if he had pierced through the delicate veil they had so carefully maintained between them for so long.

"Why?" Wendy asked, meeting his stare, her voice betraying no emotion.

"I don't want you to go!"

"And if you don't want me to, I won't?" Wendy's gaze didn't waver.

Her voice carried a hint of challenge, a whisper of hope, and a large dose of courage.

She needed to know how West truly felt.

She didn't dare to get her hopes up too high.

They weren't teenagers who would be swayed by a single vague, probing line. They both understood the weight behind these words.

It was better for them both to know.

Love or not, she wanted an answer.
