The news that Marjorie had AIDS didn't surprise Janina; she had long suspected that something terrible had happened to her.

"And now you've captured us? You're nothing but a piece of shit, trying to make everyone else stink just as bad as you do. You have no shame!"

As soon as Janina finished, Maggie launched into her own tirade.

"You got sick, and now you feel dirty, so you want to drag us into the mud with you? You think that will somehow make you clean?"

"I spit on you! You're rotten to the core, without a shred of decency left. If I were your mother, I would have strangled you at birth if I knew you'd turn out like this!"

"You're a parasite, the scum of the earth! You're wearing enough foundation to build a fortress! Your life sucks, so you get jealous and attack anyone doing better than you. It's pathetic!"

"There are plenty of people in the world who have it good. Are you going to go after all of them? You miserable bitch! I swear, I will tear you apart! And when you're in hell, I'll find a warlock to curse your soul so you can never find peace!"

Maggie unleashed a torrent of abuse, using every vicious and hateful word she had ever known.

Marjorie leaned against the wall, tapping her fingers against it rhythmically.

She listened to their insults, but instead of getting angry, she threw her head back and laughed.

She licked her lips, her eyes filled with a sick, twisted excitement.

"Go on, scream all you want. You won't be screaming for long. I've slept with over six hundred men, and all of them have been infected with HIV. Those disgusting pigs… some of them have wives, some have girlfriends, and others just like to sleep around.
