Maggie's voice was grim. "It's happening tonight. All right, Wendy, you don't know how to fight, so just stay out of the way and protect yourself. Take this dagger, just in case."
She pulled a dagger from her bag and handed it to Wendy Clifford.
Wendy was terrified, but she knew she couldn't show it now.
Maggie was a formidable fighter, capable of handling two men on her own. Janina had been taking boxing lessons, so she could defend herself. As for Kenneth… Wendy had no idea what he was capable of.
They also had two of their own bodyguards.
Still, Wendy did the math. Six of them against a dozen trained professionals? The odds were terrible. They were outnumbered two to one.
Wendy's mind raced, but she knew they couldn't just surrender before the fight even began. She tightened her grip on the dagger. "Don't worry, I won't hold you back."
What they didn't know was that Kenneth was just as skilled as Maggie. He was a trained fighter too.
However, Kenneth was panicking. He had no idea Maggie and Janina could fight.
He had assumed the three women were completely defenseless.
This was a losing battle!
"When are the police going to get here?" Kenneth asked, his voice trembling.
Janina replied, "I don't know."
Kenneth was losing his mind. "Ah!"
"Then why aren't we running?" he yelped.
Maggie shot him an exasperated look. "Do you really think we can run?"
Ten bodyguards had already formed a tight circle around the six of them.
"Get them," one of the bodyguards ordered, and the others moved in to grab Janina and her friends.
Just as their hands reached out, the group fought back. With a swift grab and a powerful kick, they sent one of the advancing bodyguards flying.
The bodyguards were stunned. "Well, well, looks like they've got some moves!"
Kenneth stepped forward, striking what he thought was an impressive fighting pose.
