Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 301

The mention of Mount Giltspire made Janina, Maggie, and Melody all pause.

The three of them exchanged glances, a subtle tension instantly filling the air.

Before Janina gave birth, the three of them had gone to Mount Giltspire to pray.

Janina remembered her wish at the time: she had prayed for a safe delivery and promised to return to give thanks after the baby was born.

Maggie and Melody remembered it, too.

Melody suddenly broke the silence, her voice tinged with surprise.

"Oh my God, I'd completely forgotten about Mount Giltspire until Wendy brought it up. We made a vow before Nina had the baby."

Maggie sighed softly, her eyes full of helplessness.

"Yeah, we even bought all those offerings and knelt so sincerely. I don't think praying did any good, though. Look at Nina now…"

But Melody disagreed. "Do you think maybe God is angry because Nina didn't go back to give thanks right after the baby was born?"

Melody didn't think she was talking nonsense.

She used to be a complete skeptic.

But the wider the range of roles she played as an actress, the more she learned.

She began to realize there were too many things in the world that science couldn't explain.

Filming on set, they often encountered strange situations.

Props would disappear for no reason, or they'd hear footsteps in an empty hallway.

And all those supernatural scripts she'd worked on—they were fictional stories, but during filming, it always felt like a pair of eyes was watching from behind, a chillingly real sensation.

"If ghosts and gods don't exist," she mused, "why are there so many churches in the world, dedicated to so many saints?"

Maggie raised an eyebrow, a dismissive smile playing on her lips.
