Xavia waited for Zivon to leave before she whispered to her grandmother, “Grandma, that guy is Yulia’s father. He is my boyfriend. Grandma, you have to make it through the surgery tomorrow… You need to let me know if he meets your standards.”
“By the way, Grandma, I forgot to tell you that I gave birth to a pair of fraternal twins. They are super adorable and my son is a very gifted child.”
Even though the old lady never responded, Xavia still said a lot of things to her that night. It was almost like she was telling the old lady everything that she had not been able to tell her for the past few years.
After Xavia was done speaking, she held her grandmother’s hand and fell asleep.
Late at night.
Creak…
A nurse gently pushed the door open and entered the room. She glanced at Xavia who was sleeping, draped a thin blanket over her, and then checked on the old lady. After that, she hastily injected a liquid into the old lady’s IV bag, then pushed the medicine cart out and left.
In less than thirty minutes.
Beep! Beep! Beep! The heart monitor started beeping loudly.
Xavia woke up with a jolt and saw her grandmother gasping for air. Her face was pale and the heart monitor results were fluctuating.
Xavia panicked. “Grandma! Doctor! Doctor!”
A doctor rushed into the room. “What’s wrong?”
“I don’t know. Grandma suddenly started gasping for air and her heart is beating very quickly. Please check on her!”
