Sitting in his office, Zivon ended up smoking a cigarette… and another… and another… and soon enough, he had smoked every last cigarette in the box. Whatever the case was, it was at four in the evening when Zivon finally decided to take a shower in the lounge. Following that, he changed into a clean suit before heading back to the old mansion…

To his surprise, Xavia was nowhere to be seen. Hadn’t he told her to wait for him in the private court…? …Did she take it that badly? Was she planning to run off with the child?! Terrified by the thought, Zivon then quickly attempted to give Xavia a call…

Thankfully, she picked up, and he immediately asked in an anxious tone, “Xavia? Where are you?”

Upon hearing his worry-filled voice, Xavia somehow felt even more upset than before. After all, before this, his words and actions made it feel as though he really cared for her. It was exactly because of that that she ever thought she had a chance… Unfortunately, that nativity had only led to all this pain…

Since Xavia wasn’t saying anything, Zivon automatically began thinking of the worst possible outcomes that could befall her.

Despite how tense he now was, Zivon quickly snapped out of it before adding in a gentle tone, “…Xavia, please try not to think too much about it… No matter how important lives are, the child is simply destined to disappear from the world… With that said, all we can really do is calmly accept it since we can’t do anything to prevent it… We need to try opening our hearts so that we don’t get caught up in this…”

As he said that, Zivon couldn’t help but choke up a little as he recalled the moment when that girl died… Shaking his head, Zivon quickly added, “…So please be good and tell me where you are, alright…? Just stay right there and I’ll come over immediately…”

His voice was warm and calming, and Zivon was arguably the gentlest person on the planet at the moment. Even so, his words only added to Xavia’s coldness and pain. How was this man still seeing things so rationally? In a way, it almost felt like the ‘child’ wasn’t even his!

The fact that he was able to behave like a complete outsider at a time like this truly highlighted how frozen his heart was… The second he made his mind up that he didn’t want something, he’d never ever falter from his decision…
