Keith was lying on the hospital bed, his face pale and his lips dry. His leg was in a plaster cast and he had medical equipment Xavia did not recognize stuck on his chest.

His eyes softened when he saw her. “I’m glad you’re okay.”

Xavia’s heart clenched. Although he wasn’t the one who had saved her, he had only gotten this injured because he went to look for her.

Despite that, he was still worried about her.

Feeling grateful and moved, Xavia walked over to him shyly. “It seems like I owe you another favor.”

Keith raised his hand and rubbed her head affectionately. “Why are you being so formal with me? This is just a small injury and I will be fine after about two days of rest. If you really want to thank me, you can stay here and take care of me.”

Of course Xavia would do that!

Xavia nodded earnestly. “Don’t worry, I’m here to take care of you and keep you company. Are you hungry? Do you feel like eating anything? Do you want me to go and buy something?”

“I’m not hungry, but…” Keith wanted to say something but stopped, looking uncertain.

After a moment, he admitted, “I need to take a leak.”

“Huh?” Xavia took a quick glance at his leg. “Oh, you cannot move now, right? I will go and get the doctor then.”

“Wait.” Keith pulled her back and lowered his gaze.

Xavia followed his line of sight to a portable urinal. Instantly, her body tensed and her face turned pale. “Surely you’re not expecting me to hold it for you, right?”

Keith smiled slightly. “How else can it be done? Didn’t you say that you will take care of me? Are you going to break your promise so soon?”

“No. It’s just too…” Awkward?

Xavia did not know what to say.

Keith prodded, “Too what? I’m a patient, and anyway, I’m just asking you to hold the bottle… I’m not asking you to touch it.”

Xavia could not bear to hear him explain further. “You should hurry up then. I’ll look elsewhere.”
