Barely even able to speak without choking up, Xavia simply replied, “Why are you still talking about such things at a time like this…? What would happen if you ended up becoming disfigured? If your wound got infected and you ultimately died up here?”

“Look, if your wounds could be healed from my worrying, then I’d be willing to worry endlessly…! Either way, it’s all my fault…! Had I paid more attention to where I was wandering, all this wouldn’t have happened…! I shouldn’t have allowed you to check on Keith alone either…!” whimpered Xavia in between sobs.

Xavia seemed to be having a complete emotional breakdown, and Zivon’s heart couldn’t help but soften as he looked at the crying girl. Still, if this usually tough woman was now sobbing like a child for him, Zivon believed that her feelings for him weren’t that easily tossed around.

With that, he gently lifted her chin up… before giving her a deep kiss. Though domineering as usual, the kiss was simultaneously gentle, and Xavia couldn’t help but feel her body tense up…

Shortly after, she snapped out of it and pushed him aside while saying, “W-what kind of person even are you…? To think you’d be still this immodest when you’re this injured-”

Before Xavia could even finish her sentence, she watched as Zivon landed on the ground with a ‘thud’! Her anxiety spiking again, Xavia quickly squatted by his side while exclaiming, “Z-Zivon? Zivon…! I’m sorry, I didn’t think you were that badly injured…! I didn’t mean to push you that hard…! Are you alright? Please be alright…!”

Though anyone else would’ve surely found her constant weeping irritating, Zivon found it pleasing to his heart and ears… Looking straight into her eyes, he then said, “That’s quite enough… I’m not dead yet…”

When Xavia fell silent, Zivon added, “So… The beast from before was a wild boar… I’m assuming it accidentally ate some poisonous mushrooms, which would explain why it was behaving so erratically… Regardless, as you predicted, the boar was just about to attack Keith when I got there… It took a bit of effort, but in the end, I managed to kill it…”

“As for all this blood… Most of it actually comes from the creature… While I do have some external injuries, none of them are life-threatening…” added Zivon.

…So that’s what happened… He must have taken extra long to deal with the boar due to his initial injuries... He had toppled to the ground due to his sheer exhaustion! Still…
