His statement instantly caused Xavia to go pale. She… was just trying to help him out here…! It clearly wouldn’t be easy for him to explain himself if Jenna saw her like this, so if he helped her, he’d also be helping himself! With that in mind, why the hell was he being so calculative?!
Xavia’s train of thought was cut short when she heard two knocks from outside, followed by Jenna saying, “Zivon…?”
Cr*p. There was no time…!
“Look, I’ll owe you one, so please just help me out here…!” whispered the desperate Xavia. Before Zivon could even reply, she had already closed the wardrobe’s door. Truly as swift as a fox…
Still, Zivon couldn’t help but subtly smile. When he saw the exposed corner of his white shirt sticking out of the wardrobe, however, his gaze momentarily deepened. It was at that moment when Jenna walked in while asking, “Zivon…? You here…?”
Turning to look at her, Zivon saw that she had a limited-edition, pastel purple suit on. Adding that to how beautiful and elegant she was, it was clear that she had put in extra effort to present herself this way.
Even so, Zivon’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. Turning to face her, Zivon made sure to keep the corner of Xavia’s shirt concealed as he said, “Have you given proper thought about the papers?”
His statement momentarily caused Jenna’s face to tense up. It was evident that he was talking about the divorce papers. Forcing a smile, Jenna then replied, “…I’m here to tell you that I don’t agree to this divorce. You’ve never even considered divorcing me when I was pregnant with Maison till the day we got married, no?”
“With that in mind, I know you’re doing all this because of Xavia. While she may have made your heart waver, I can assure you that it’s simply a momentary interest. Regardless, I insist that we stay together till Grandma passes away. If you still want to undergo the divorce by that point, I’ll do as you say… on one condition. The person who marries you next has to be Xavia, and Xavia will have to willingly marry you. I won’t accept any other woman.”
Despite how arrogant the beautiful woman was being, Zivon knew she had a generally good temperament and dignity to maintain. Truth be told, Zivon wouldn’t say that he had zero affection for Jenna either. After all, she was still Maison’s mother. Even so, he was still slightly surprised that she would even suggest such a thing.
Eventually, he brought himself to say, “…I already told you that the divorce has nothing to do with Xavia. Stop trying to delay the inevitable.”
