Unable to see through her emotions, Zivon was prompted to ask, “Are you angry…? I’ve done all that I can to get him to leave…”
Zivon’s words were both gentlemanly and tender, a dangerous combination that would make any woman fall for him… However, Xavia knew that this tenderness wasn’t exclusively hers. He could’ve used this tenderness on countless other women.
That aside, if he could give Linda away so casually, then who knew when he’d grow bored of her and give her away next?
With her emotions now sorted out, she then calmly stared Zivon in the eye before saying, “…I’m not angry. I’ve simply had time to figure out the answer to your earlier question, Young Master Burton. Essentially, we’re all adults here, so it’s pretty pointless for us to be talking about feelings. After all, such feelings could be for you today, yet they could be for another on the next. With that in mind, it’s really not all that valuable.”
Understanding what she was getting at, Zivon then narrowed his eyes as he asked, “Are you implying that you could have feelings for me and also others?”
This prompted Xavia to nod. Looks like he was sharper than she thought. Regardless, Xavia then replied, “Well, didn’t I initially have feelings for Stefan? Those feelings transferred to Young Master Keith when he saved me, and since I’ve been with you in the past two days, it only makes sense that I develop feelings for you, Young Master Burton. I guess girls are just that susceptible to gentle and tender men.”
The fact that she was acting all serious—and had even given examples—made Zivon irked beyond comparison. If it was true that her feelings were this easily transferred to others, then he didn’t want any part of that!
In the end, Zivon was prompted to ask, “…You should know that not every woman is qualified to receive my affection. Are you truly sure that this is your answer?”
Naturally, Xavia knew that any woman around him had to have good looks and capabilities. However, she didn’t want to be like those women. That aside, wasn’t he saying it in a way that suggested that she should feel honored because of his treatment?
