Xavia, for one, knew that they hadn’t done anything bad to warrant a spot on the trending tab… So why did Ava need them to return?
Keith himself simply replied, “No idea, though let’s just head back to see what’s wrong…”
“Got it…” muttered Xavia. No matter how much she despised Ava, she didn’t want to argue with a sickly old woman.
Fast forward to half an hour later, Keith and Xavia found themselves entering the Burton residence… To their surprise, even Herschel, Zivon, Jenna, and the Dylans were there. Everything seemed rather formal and serious…
With that in mind, Xavia inched closer toward Keith’s back to lessen her presence.
Noticing this, Zivon simply sneered at her actions. Not only had she previously argued with him because of Keith, but she was now by his side again? What's more, she was even at the family meeting! It truly seemed like she really cared for Keith.
Jenna herself—who was standing beside Zivon—didn’t seem too happy either. Even so, she kept her gentle façade on.
Moving back to the wheelchaired Ava who still seemed quite frail—though she looked much better than before—, when she saw that everyone was here, she was prompted to say, “I’ve called all of you here to share something…”
“Essentially, I’ve organized a three-day trip to Hawaii in ten days… With that said, I want all of you to finish up your work as soon as possible to accompany this old woman on that trip… Consider it to be a family gathering since… Well, I don’t think I’ll have another chance to join all of you after this…” added Ava.
In the end, old people wanted nothing more than for their children and grandchildren to be by their side. Regardless, those in the room naturally weren’t against that. After all, with how ill Ava now was, they had to be on their best behavior in their attempt to fight for their inheritance.
This prompted Helen to smile as she said, “Very well. I’ll be making some arrangements and preparing everyone’s necessities in advance, then.”
