Pregnant and Favored: See You in the Morning, Young Master novel Chapter 691

Keith, for one, was really glad that she had decided to come to him. Walking over to her, he then asked in a gentle tone, “Are you sure you want to meet Cara…?”

“I am,” replied Xavia, who knew that Cara was perfect for the job. After all, Cara had grown up in the countryside, which meant that she was familiar with everything there. That aside, Xavia was aware that Cara was acquainted with several ancient teachers, which further increased the odds of her restoring the farmhouse to perfection…

What more, since Cara had been in the detention center for a while now, Xavia figured that she’d be desperate to leave, just like how Xavia had felt back in prison. Her devastation would surely prompt her to agree!

Regardless, Xavia then said in a serious tone, “…Bring me in.”

“Right on it,” replied the smiling Keith as he led the way…

After having some formalities with those in charge, Xavia was finally able to meet Cara. The old lady herself was crouched in a deep, dark cell—along with five others—illuminated only by a single window high atop the wall… Unlike the rich get up she previously had, her clothes were now fully tattered and her hair extremely messy…

Whatever the case was, she was extremely surprised when her eyes met Xavia’s.

“X-Xavia…?! Xavia, you’re alright…! Did you come here to save me…?! I always knew you had a kind heart and wouldn’t just forget about me…!” exclaimed Cara.

Hah. A kind heart? In response, Xavia simply scoffed in an aloof tone, “Oh? Why didn’t you consider my kindness when you sold me off? And why did you keep cutting off ties with me whenever I was in trouble? I’m utterly repulsed by your lack of shame!”

Xavia was treating Cara the way she deserved, and this prompted Cara to sincerely—and eagerly—plead, “I-I’m sorry…! It was all my fault…! I should’ve never treated you so inhumanely…! I admit I was wrong, so please, please let me out of this place…! I promise I’ll never gamble again, nor will I do anything else to hurt you…! I swear on my life…!”

Though her sincerity was rather convincing, there was no way Xavia would truly trust her again. After all, a leopard couldn’t change its patterns, nor could a person change their bad behaviors. Then again, she wasn’t here hoping for Cara to change in the first place. She was simply here to see if she could use her.

With that in mind, Xavia was prompted to ask, “…I can get you out of there on one condition.”
