“I know, right, Uncle Zivon? Xavia’s truly an excellent girlfriend! Speaking of which, have you eaten, Uncle Zivon? Would you like to have a taste of Xavia’s cooking?” asked Keith.
‘He’s tasted enough of my cooking! Please refuse…!’ Xavia thought to herself.
To her dismay, Zivon gave her a subtle glance before replying, “Of course I have to taste my niece-in-law’s cooking.”
Xavia was silent as she watched Zivon sit elegantly.
The hell did he mean by niece-in-law? If he truly treated her as his niece-in-law, he wouldn’t be giving her such a hard time, then! Now fuming slightly, Xavia quickly lowered her head before starting to eat.
As for Helen, though she originally wanted to make things difficult for Xavia, she could only eat quietly now that Zivon was here. She, for one, didn’t want to expose her bad nature in public.
With that in mind, Helen eventually said, “…Oh my, what scrumptious dishes! Did you cook all these yourself? They taste even better than what the chef in the main mansion makes!”
In response, Xavia simply gave a brief nod, not wanting to appear superfluous.
Keith, however, carried his meal over to Xavia’s side—before casually sitting right next to her—and held her hands as he replied, “Mom, did you know that Xavia not only cleaned the courtyard in the afternoon, but she also spent several hours cooking? She really knows how to put in the effort! With that said, while she may fail to meet up to you and father’s expectations, I feel blessed to be able to watch her cook so wholeheartedly.”
After saying that, Keith turned to face Zivon as he added, “Honestly though, I find it quite funny that my tastes in women are completely different compared to Uncle Zivon’s. After all, he prefers strong and capable women who prioritize work over spending time together. I, on the other hand, simply wish to have a simple life. I’m happy enough as long as I can protect her, and she cooks and waits for me to come home every day… Don’t you think it feels different when you eat food that someone made wholeheartedly for you, mom?”
