It was six the next morning when Xavia woke up and headed straight for Zivon’s ward. Once she was there, she quickly began setting up her phone’s camera before carefully starting to organize everything.

This eventually woke Zivon up, and when he saw Xavia busily walking back and forth, he was prompted to whisper, “…What exactly are you doing?”

After gesturing for Zivon to keep it down, she then pointed at a ribbon in her hand before whispering back, “I’m preparing for Maison’s birthday.”

Before Zivon could reply, Xavia was already pasting a colorful gift ribbon onto the wall. Following that, she took out a bunch of things that Zivon had never even seen before. This prompted him to frown slightly. After all, not only had she awoken this early in the morning just to prepare for the child’s birthday, but she had even gotten all these things ready beforehand! He had never met someone this thoughtful before…

Regardless, after pasting several other things to the wall, all that was left was a balloon with a prince’s crown on it. This special final piece was to be glued onto the giant, ‘Happy Birthday’ banner as decoration. However, even after getting a stool—and standing on her tiptoes—, Xavia wasn’t quite tall enough to stick the balloon where she wanted it to go.

All of a sudden, a long, slender arm took the balloon from her hand before easily sticking it to where Xavia had planned to. Understandably startled, Xavia immediately looked to her side… only to be greeted by Zivon’s charming head profile! With his chest now against her back, Xavia could even feel his robust body’s warmth…!

Gulping slightly nervously, Xavia managed to eventually say, “…T-thank you…”

Upon hearing that, Zivon simply momentarily stared at her face before replying, “…I should be the one thanking you. After all, you’re putting in all this effort for Maison…”

With how close he was, Xavia could even feel Zivon’s breath brushing against her cheek. This, of course, only served to make her even more flustered as she slowly said, “…It’s… nothing… I mean, I like Maison a lot, so it only makes sense that I prepared a nice gift for him… Speaking of preparations, I still have a few other things to set up so I’ll be off to get them first…!”

Since she immediately attempted to leave—before Zivon could question her about the preparations—, Xavia somehow forgot that she was still standing atop a stool! With that in mind, after realizing that her first step wasn’t touching the ground, Xavia instantly let out a fearful yelp!
