With that in mind, she squatted before him… but before she could even begin trying to sweet talk him, Zivon icily added, “You don’t have to lower yourself to talk to me either…!”
It was now evident that he was extremely enraged, and Xavia felt herself go pale. Quickly getting up, Xavia replied, “I-I didn’t mean to-”
“Why don’t you leave for now, Mrs. Burton…” interrupted Nathan before quickly pulling her away.
Once they were outside, Nathan sighed before whispering, “…Look, he’s been having a hard time accepting his current situation, and whenever someone goes out of their way to accommodate his limited mobility, he… gets a bit grumpy. That aside, you should remember that he spent ages designing that villa with you in mind… What I mean is that he views that as his one true home, so now that you’ve brought him to another…”
“Well, knowing him, he’ll feel guilty and assume that he’s robbed you of your home as well. In other words, I’m sure he’s not actually mad at you… Now stay here for now as I try to calm him down,” concluded Nathan, leaving Xavia stunned.
From her secret observations, she had assumed that Zivon had been making a steady recovery, but… to think that he was this bothered by it… In the end, what she had hoped to be a pleasant surprise simply ended up rubbing salt onto his wounds…
Back inside the flat, Zivon could be seen trying his best to regulate his breathing… and shortly after, he heard Nathan say, “I’m sure Mrs. Burton was just trying to be thoughtful, but if you really hate it here, then we can just head back…”
It was undeniable that he hated this place, but after looking at the building’s design and how well it had been decorated, he also had to admit that Xavia had put lots of thought into this place… In a way, this flat was homier than his villa could ever be, and… As much as he hated to admit it, this place was probably the best he could ask for to accommodate his current situation. But… Were they seriously going to change houses just because of his legs?!
Since Zivon remained quiet, Nathan eventually added, “…If I may… I know you feel that Mrs. Burton is doing too much for you, to the point where it hurts your self-esteem, but… Remember, she’s only doing all this because she loves you… Also, you may feel guilty of robbing her of her wedding villa, but I can assure you that she doesn’t care about that… All she cares about is being able to stay by your side…”
