Just as he was about to tell Xavia to offer Mark some tea, he couldn’t help but notice just how awestruck she was while staring at Mark…
Now squinting slightly Zivon then said, “…Say, I’m hungry for some dumplings again, Xav. Could you go get some for me?”
“…Huh? Didn’t you just have some earlier?” grumbled Xavia who really wanted to continue staring at Mark. After all, that man just felt so… familiar…
Realizing that her eyes were still on Mark, Zivon was quick to reply, “Well I’m hungry again.”
Following a sigh, Xavia then said, “Fine. I’ll go get you a dozen dumplings, and you’d better finish them.”
Watching as she walked off, Mark couldn’t help but mutter, “As adorable as always, isn’t she?”
Now more irked than before, Zivon replied, “…Save the praise for your wife.”
Lowering his gaze a little, Mark then pulled a chair over and sat down as he said, “Look, I’ve known her for years, so it’s impossible for me not to worry about her… That aside, you don’t have to worry about me. After all, we’re both married, and I only see her as a younger sister now… Besides, I honestly feel that you’re more suitable for her than I am, and… as much as I hate to admit it, you clearly love her more than I do.”
“…What are you trying to say?” asked Zivon who couldn’t understand where Mark was trying to go with this conversation.
Smiling in response, Mark replied, “Back when Xavia was still missing, we were all in chaos as we tried looking for clues to find her… But not you. No, you did everything as methodically as possible, and though you were the most vulnerable of us all, you still made sure to be a good father figure for your kids… Let’s just say that sometime around then, I realized that though you couldn’t live without her, you were willing to live on for her sake…”
