“…You only have about three days left… But if you faint before that, you could easily die earlier… D-don’t worry though, I figured something out while I was treating you last night…! Basically, I’ve found that you usually pass out due to strong emotions… so if you control your emotions better, there’s a chance that you’ll survive much longer than that!”
Though Lana attempted to explain other ways to increase her odds of survival, Xavia’s mind had already completely tuned out. She… only had three days left…?! Feeling her legs go limp, she was only able to snap out of it a little when she heard Lana exclaim, “B-be careful…!”
Following that, she allowed Lana to help her sit by a bed…
By this point, Lana was thoroughly irked with herself for letting Xavia know such information… and after clenching her fists, Lana muttered, “…I’m sorry, I… I shouldn’t have said that… Sir Ian already told me not to, yet I…!”
Just as Lana was about to slap herself, Xavia grabbed her wrist before saying, “…You did nothing wrong, Dr. Presley… Thank you for telling me the truth.”
Gulping slightly, the regretful doctor muttered, “…There’s no need to be too pessimistic… A-as they say, positivity is the first step to overcome obstacles! We’ll always be by your side, so just… try your best to survive!”
Xavia naturally knew that. She had always known that, ever since she was a child… How else had she survived this long? Alas, even though her days of working tirelessly were long gone, it seemed that nothing could change her fate this time. Despite thinking that, she simply replied, “…I’ll do my best as well.”
