If she failed to escape in time, she’d be done for! In the end, the thought haunted her throughout the night… and by the time morning came, she was all tired. It didn’t take long for her breakfast to be served, a simple bun and some pickles. She didn’t really mind the food, but her anxiety made everything she ate feel tasteless.
Every time a guard walked past, she couldn’t help but say, “S-sir! I swear, I’m the real Xavia…! Please help me…! I promise to do anything as long as I successfully make it out of here…!”
Eventually, one of the guards glared at her as he replied, “Couldn’t you at least show some shame before you die? How much longer are you going to play pretend, huh? Look, nobody’s going to believe your bullshit after all those murders you committed!”
“In case you didn’t know, the court will announce your sentence in three days, and since Ms. Harrison and Ms. Lockhart made a joint petition, your odds of avoiding the death penalty are pretty slick! With that said, you’d best hope that your acting skills work once you’re in hell!”
…What? Petition? Death penalty?! That bitch sure worked fast…! By this point, Xavia was so enraged that veins were already showing on her forehead!
Her train of thought was cut short when she heard the guard add, “Also, if you keep on shouting then I’m stuffing up your mouth, you hear?”
Watching as two guards intimidatingly stepped up, Xavia couldn’t help but groan. Why the hell were such stupid people given such high positions?!
In the end, she couldn’t help but growl, “Look, say if I really was Jenna. What would the point be for me to lie that I was Xavia? And why would I want Young Master Burton to come over? He’d be able to tell that I was lying at a glance! With that said, if Jenna ends up getting away because of your stubbornness, my innocent death will be on all of you! Think you can handle the guilt then?! Huh?! How the hell did you numbskulls get hired?!”
