Before she could even reply, he had already hung up. Zivon, for one, would’ve gladly preferred her clinginess over her current detachment…
As for Jenna, she couldn’t help but feel slightly apprehensive. While it was true that she was prepared and had top-tier acting skills, it was always nerve-wracking to face Zivon…
Her train of thought was cut short when she heard Sophia say, “It’s done, Miss Lockhart.”
Nodding in response, Jenna replied, “…Thank you. I’ll be submitting this joint petition to the court, then…”
Grateful to hear that, Sophia guiltily muttered, “No, thank you… You’re still willing to help me after all that I’ve done to you… Anyway, though I’ll still be stuck here, I’ll make sure Jenna pays for all that she’s done! She won’t be alive for much longer!”
Sophia’s words caused Jenna to clench her fists. She wanted her dead, huh…?! Let’s see who’d be more miserable in the end…! Maintaining a calm façade, Jenna replied, “Indeed… Anyway, Von is here to pick me up, so I’ll be off first.”
Jenna hadn’t really meant to brag when she said that, but it still showed just how different her current life was compared to Sophia’s. With that in mind, once Jenna had left, Sophia couldn’t help but sigh. There was once a time when she was Zivon’s popular and successful right-hand woman… His friend. Yet now… she had fallen into such a pitiful state… All because of Jenna.
After taking in a deep breath, she turned to look at her secretary before saying, “…Jenna has to die. She can’t be allowed to stir any more trouble.”
“Indeed, President Harrison. Then again, since the people already know she’s a murderer, it shouldn’t be too hard to have her dead. Not to worry, I’ll be sure that everything will be settled by the time you’re released,” replied the secretary before turning to leave as well…
