After Sophia was done speaking, she turned around and strode away in her high heels.
Xavia’s frail figure trembled in the bleak and gloomy cemetery. If it weren’t for Yulia and her plan to avenge her grandmother, she could indeed meet Sophia’s requirements…
But what should she do now?
There were so many things she hadn't done yet, but if she did not end her life, Sophia would never let her off.
“Aunt, if your spirit is in heaven, can you give me some guidance? Is it true that Miss Harrison and you will only be able to forgive me if I die?” Xavia knelt down in front of the tomb, feeling helpless and remorseful.
No one responded and the rain only got heavier, drowning out the sounds of everything around her.
A long time later, a black umbrella was held over Xavia, sheltering her from the curtain of rain.
Xavia looked up and saw a handsome man standing there. She was surprised as she asked, “Senior, why are you here?”
Wade sighed softly and helped Xavia up as he said solemnly, “I come here often to visit Mrs. Harrison. I happened to run into you and Miss Harrison today and I overheard your conversation with her.”
“Miss Lockhart, you are braver than me. I’ve always felt guilty and wanted to make amends, but I’ve never done anything. You have done so much. It’s just that…Miss Harrison is too extreme and you’re really too pitiful. I don’t know how to make amends either, but what you're doing is too much.”
Xavia had a complicated expression on her face. “Her emotions are understandable. When my grandmother passed away, I wanted to kill the person who did it too. I’ll keep thinking of ways to make it up to her. You should not worry too much though, the incident that night had nothing to do with you.”
“How can it have nothing to do with me? If it weren’t for my birthday banquet, and if it weren’t for that hotel, it never would have happened,” Wade protested.
