Zivon stared straight into her eyes, his lips moving as though he was trying to say something… But before any words could leave his mouth, Dana came running toward them while gratefully exclaiming, “Y-Young Master Burton…! Miss Lockhart…! Sophia’s awake…! She says she wants to meet Miss Lockhart to tell her something…!”
…Sophia wanted to meet her? Though Xavia was rightfully surprised, she quickly replied, “…Alright, I’ll go check on her.”
Nodding in response, Dana then chose to remain outside as she watched Xavia enter the ward…
Once inside, Xavia saw that Sophia truly had gotten up. Though her eyes still looked tired, they were as sharp as before. This was a good sign that Sophia would recover soon, and after giving a sigh, Xavia muttered, “…I’m glad you’re awake again, Miss Harrison…”
Looking extremely pale, Sophia turned to look at Xavia before replying, “…Thank you, though… I have to say that you truly are the most stupid woman I know… Were you not at the party that night…? Was your heart not shattered because of me…? Yet here you are, helping me regain my will to live…! You truly are one-of-a-kind… No wonder he’s so fond of you…”
Awkwardly scratching the back of her head, Xavia then muttered, “…I’m not as good as you think I am… You should know that I fought with Young Master Burton that night… Regardless, I only did all this because I admire you. After all, you’re an extremely capable person, and I believe that all other women should follow in your footsteps. That aside, even if you do lose at love, I believe you’ll still have a bright future!”
“Alright, that’s enough flattery…” muttered Sophia with an embarrassed smile. If she was as amazing as Xavia had said, then Zivon would’ve surely fallen for her instead…
After a brief pause, Sophia added, “…I’ve been working hard all these years with Young Master Burton as my goal… For me, he’s like a source of endless motivation… I’ve simply yearned to be able to work by his side this entire time, and just seeing him was enough to keep me satisfied…”
