Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 277

Signature...

Silvia stared at the case closure report in her hands, her lips curling into a mocking smile.

“Fine. I’ll sign.”

Gray was dead now. If she wanted to keep digging, it wouldn’t be easy.

Her fingers trembled as she gripped the pen, a shadow crossing her brow.

The female detective couldn’t help but purse her lips, noticing how reluctant Silvia seemed as she signed. “Miss Ashford, if you still have doubts, you’re welcome to take precautions on your own. We’ve investigated as far as we can. There’s nothing left to pursue.”

Silvia scrawled her name and lifted her gaze, glancing at the detective without another word.

Suddenly, she asked, “Is there something you’re not telling me?”

“What?”

The detective looked startled by the question, her eyes meeting Silvia’s as a flicker of panic crossed her face.

She managed to compose herself and replied, “I don’t know what you mean. But Miss Ashford, this case is officially closed.”

Silvia didn’t push her any further. She’d caused enough trouble for others lately.

Once the paperwork was done, Silvia left the station.

Standing alone by the curb, she watched the endless stream of cars, her lips twisting into a faint, bitter smile.

Forget it.

Let it end here.
