After everything that had happened today, Silvia realized just how naïve she’d been from the start.
Some people truly had no sense of shame at all. Rather than getting entangled with them, it was better to simply steer clear and enjoy some peace.
Since Kent had already made a name for himself in the city, she was sure he could recommend her a great location for her new studio.
Noticing the shift in her demeanor, Kent let out a low chuckle.
He’d been wanting Silvia to move for a while now, but since she’d chosen her old place herself, he’d kept quiet about it.
“I actually have a better space available. If you want it, I can clear it out for you,” he offered, wrapping an arm around her.
Something else came to mind, so he added, “By the way, I’ve already taken care of that situation with your family. The Ashford Group’s stock has rebounded.”
Taken care of? Silvia blinked, momentarily thrown.
Hadn’t Lola just said that Vianne was sent home to keep the media from stirring things up any further?
Sensing her confusion, Kent looked down and studied her expression. “What is it? Did something go wrong?”
Silvia pressed her lips together, her face betraying a hint of awkwardness. After a pause, she explained, “My mother had Vianne come home today. She said it was to keep the rumors from getting any worse.”
The Ashfords were in the middle of negotiating a major deal, and any kind of scandal right now could be disastrous.
“Maybe your mother has her own plans,” Kent replied calmly.
Seeing Silvia’s frown deepen, he reached out and gently smoothed the crease between her brows with his hand. “Don’t worry. I’m sure they know what they’re doing.”
“Alright,” Silvia murmured, letting it go for now.
