Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 275

“I’ll help you.”

Kent’s answer was quiet but firm, his brows faintly drawn together, the seriousness in his handsome face unmistakable.

He’d wanted to believe that, since Silvia had left her old life behind, there was no need to ever bring it up again.

But Silvia lifted her gaze, meeting his eyes. The corners of her mouth curved into a small smile as she nodded.

Even though she’d already asked Johnny to look into it, if Kent was willing to help, maybe—just maybe—they’d find her adoptive mother even faster.

...

The next day, Silvia’s phone rang. It was Yvette.

“Silvia, can you come to Pinecrest Medical Center? Mr. Doyle’s already found some inconsistencies.”

Yvette’s voice was anxious.

“I’ll be there.”

Silvia drove straight to Pinecrest Medical Center. As she pulled into the lot, she spotted Yvette walking over, dressed in a soft, elegant dress—so different from her usual sharp-edged look.

One glance at her friend’s rosy cheeks and gentle smile, and Silvia understood: Yvette was glowing with the happiness of new love.

“Silvia, don’t worry,” Yvette said, reaching for Silvia’s hand and giving it a gentle squeeze. She smoothed her thumb across Silvia’s furrowed brow in a comforting gesture. “With Mr. Doyle on the case, we’ll finally learn what really happened to your grandmother.”

Silvia mustered a small smile, not wanting her friend to worry. “Thank you, Yvette.”

Without lingering in the parking lot, Yvette led Silvia straight to the hospital director’s office.

Despite the hospital being private, Dr. Fairchild was a straightforward man; his office was simple and uncluttered, everything in plain sight.
