Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 254

The moment someone spoke up, everyone else snapped back to their senses.

In an instant, the crowd surged forward, closing in on Silvia and hemming her in from all sides. No one seemed willing to let her leave—the atmosphere now was even more menacing than it had been that morning.

Earlier, with the building’s security team still present, the reporters had only dared to crowd the gates, snapping photos as Silvia tried to pass. But now, they had her completely surrounded.

“Miss Ashford, you still haven’t answered our question—”

“Why would you treat a woman like that, especially your foster mother? Are you denying your relationship with her?”

Question after question pelted Silvia, making her complexion turn pale.

Boxed in by the mob, she found it suddenly hard to breathe.

“You all—”

She started to tell them off, but before she could get the words out, a hand reached through the throng and seized her wrist.

“Silvia, it’s okay. I’m here.”

Kent’s voice cut through the chaos. The sound of it, warm and steady, eased the panic that had been clawing at her chest.

He pulled her into his arms, shielding her. Meanwhile, his assistant arrived with a small team and began rounding up the reporters.

Caught off guard, the so-called journalists stood frozen for a moment before breaking out in loud protests. “You can’t just arrest us! This is illegal detention! You’re breaking the law!”

Their shouts drew curious glances from a few passersby, and before long, a small crowd began to gather, eager for a spectacle.

Seeing the situation escalate, Kent frowned and tightened his hold on Silvia, guiding her quickly into the office building.
