When My Ex's Worst Enemy Became My Sanctuary novel Chapter 212

Dorothea watched Latham’s throat move as he swallowed, suddenly at a loss for words.

“You do the dishes. I’m heading back to my room.”

Latham’s eyes darkened with want, and he started washing the dishes even faster.

In the bathroom, Dorothea made sure to scrub every inch of herself clean. Still, just thinking about what had happened—and what Latham had said—sent heat rushing to her cheeks. It was all in the agreement. She couldn’t exactly back out now.

Pulling on a silk nightgown, her face still flushed, she stepped out of the bathroom just as Latham came out from his shower next door. Steam clung to his skin, making the air between them feel heavy and warm.

“Should I turn off the lights?” Latham’s voice was deeper than usual, rough and magnetic.

Dorothea’s mind went blank. “Turn them off.”

Suddenly, the room was dark.

Latham’s gaze became unreadable, as deep and shadowy as the space around them.

All she could make out was the glimmer in his eyes. Without thinking, she licked her lips. “You…”

Before she could finish, Latham pulled her gently forward, his arm wrapping around her waist.

With his other hand, he cupped the back of her head.

Even in the darkness, he leaned down and found her lips perfectly, pressing his mouth to hers.

He’d wanted to do this since dinner.

Her lips were so sweet, so soft. It felt like forever since their last kiss.

Dorothea’s breath caught in her throat, and she tried to pull away.

But as soon as she moved, his arm pulled her even closer.

Her thin silk nightgown pressed against his solid, warm chest, the heat between them almost burning.

Latham’s kiss grew deeper, his tongue slipping past her lips with practiced ease.

Dorothea panicked, stepping back, but he didn’t let up, following her every move.
