Carmen was ready to cut Albert out of her life for good.
"If your wedding was at the same time as his, or even earlier, you could really mess with him," she said, a little too gleefully.
But, of course, Dorothea's wedding was scheduled after his.
Carmen was more upset than Dorothea herself. Dorothea just smiled and shrugged it off. "It doesn't matter if it's earlier or later. It really doesn't change anything."
"But this wedding, I just don't want to…"
She didn't get to finish. Latham showed up out of nowhere, his gaze lifting ever so slightly as he took the invitation right out of Carmen's hand.
"We're going to that wedding," he said. "Carmen, let Albert know for us."
Both women looked up at him at the same time. Dorothea's lips parted in surprise. "You…"
Garth trailed in behind Latham, his little backpack bouncing. "Uncle, can I come too?"
It sounded like there was going to be a lot of drama, and he definitely wanted in.
Dorothea looked at the two of them, one tall and one small, and just shook her head. "Latham, don't make things more complicated."
Latham didn't appreciate that. "We're not causing trouble. If they have the nerve to invite us, why shouldn't we show up? Don't worry, we're not going to start a fight. When it's our turn, I'll have my assistant livestream me delivering the invitation right to him."
Albert had officially crossed a line with Latham.
Cheating was bad enough, but sending a wedding invitation to your ex? That was just low.
Carmen nodded so fast it was almost dizzying. "Absolutely. I'll pass on the message."
Dorothea shot her a look. "Carmen."
