Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 537

A Grayson, Julian’s wife, and Mrs. Grayson. With all those labels attached to her, no one would dare give Madeline a hard time.

She saw right through what Julian was doing. By calling her his wife, he was putting out a warning. If anyone wanted to mess with her, they had to ask themselves if Julian was someone they could afford to cross.

“Are you not comfortable with that title?” he asked.

Madeline let out a soft laugh. She wasn’t the type to bite the hand that fed her. He was clearly on her side, and acting shy about it would just be silly. “No, it’s not that. I just feel like I’m taking advantage of you.”

He smiled, voice low and warm. “I don’t mind being used by you.”

Her hand at her side curled into a fist. For a second, his deep, magnetic tone scrambled her thoughts. She couldn’t come up with anything clever to say, so she just murmured, “Thank you.”

“Can I get a thank-you present?” he asked.

“A present?”

He nodded, closing the space between them, his tall frame moving closer.

Madeline instinctively stepped back until she bumped into the door. Her body tensed. She darted her eyes away, trying not to meet his gaze. “Well… I’ll treat you to dinner when we get home.”

“I’m not interested in dinner.”

His warm hand found her chin, lifting her face so their eyes met.

It was the kind of moment made for a kiss.

Julian’s dark eyes held a glint of amusement. “Do you know what I actually want?”

Madeline pressed her lips together. “Can I pretend I don’t?”

He smirked. “If you want.”

She could sense it. She was already in his arms. If he wanted something from her, there wasn’t much she could do to stop him.

Before she could think of a way out, he closed the distance between them completely. His presence was overwhelming. Madeline’s body trembled, pinned between him and the door.

Strong arms wrapped around her and held her close. She could feel his breath, smell that clean, intoxicating scent that was all him.

When she didn’t push him away, Julian’s last bit of hesitation vanished. The kiss deepened.

Christian had been right. Julian was obsessed. He wanted her near, wanted to kiss her, touch her, have her, every second.

Madeline gripped his shirt, and for once, she didn’t say no.

Her heart was pounding so hard she was sure he could feel it. Her knees felt weak, but he held her tight. He stepped, pulling her with him, until they tumbled onto the bed. She landed on her back against the soft mattress, and he leaned over her.

Madeline’s gaze flickered as her mind started to clear. She put a hand to his lips. “That’s a pretty big thank-you present, don’t you think?”

Julian looked at her, at her lips still red from his kiss, at her face flushed with embarrassment. “You really think this is about a thank-you present?” His voice was gentle, teasing.

She saw the smile fade from his face. Madeline gave a little shrug. “You’re the one who said it.”
