Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 489

Julian paused, the question hanging in the air. “Is there anything else? Any other clues?”

Madeline nodded. “If you watched that video from five years ago, you probably noticed. She looks exactly like me. Not just a resemblance, but a perfect copy.”

It wasn’t only her face. The way she moved, her expressions, her habits, even her voice—it was all the same.

Madeline had sensed something was off when she disguised herself as that woman in the villa. None of the guards or the staff realized it wasn’t her.

“She even faked my belly when I was eight months pregnant. Got every little detail right. That means she must’ve been around us the whole time, watching everything we did.”

The memory made Madeline shiver. The thought of someone spying on her, copying her, scheming behind her back… It was a creepy kind of danger, the kind that made your skin crawl.

She took a steady breath, her hands never stopping what they were doing. “But I honestly have no idea who I could’ve pissed off.”

That was the worst part.

And then, like a shadow, the image of that cloaked woman drifted back into her mind. She still couldn’t make out her face or remember where she’d seen her before.

Julian had noticed the uncanny imitation too, back when he watched the video. If he hadn’t known Madeline had no reason to pull something like that, he would’ve believed it was her.

“Could it be someone with a grudge against the Monroe family?”

Madeline echoed his words, her voice low. “Someone who hates the Monroes? No way. If you knew them, you’d know they only fight each other over my mom’s inheritance. They’d never have the guts to make enemies outside the family…”

She stopped short, her eyes narrowing. “My mom’s inheritance.”

Something clicked in her mind.
