When he spotted the young woman lost in thought, a sense of foreboding washed over him.
Coco stared at Eddie in surprise. "Mr. Eddie, what brings you here in person?"
Eddie never used to bother with the interview segments—this was unprecedented.
"Where's Miss Selwyn?" he blurted out.
"Oh, you're looking for her? She already left."
"The interview ended that quickly?"
"Not exactly…"
Eddie caught the hesitation in Coco's voice and pressed her. "What happened?"
Coco rolled her eyes, dismissive. "That designer? She's got quite the ego. I was just making small talk, trying to liven things up, and she flew off the handle and demanded to end the interview. Honestly, I can't cater to someone that temperamental."
She knew she'd handled things poorly, but she had her own motives—and she certainly didn't want to take the blame for this.
Why was Eddie suddenly taking an interest in a designer, though?
But the woman was gone—what did he expect to do, chase after her?
Besides, even if there were cameras recording inside, it's not like he'd actually bother to watch the footage himself, would he?
As long as it was clear Celestine got her position through talent, not anything else, Coco felt she had nothing to worry about.
With that settled, she relaxed even further.
Eddie's jaw tightened, his voice low. "Pull up every clip of your conversation from today."
"Mr. Eddie, is that really necessary? It was all outtakes anyway—I've already cleared and deleted them." Coco's heart pounded, but years of experience let her cover it up quickly.
"Really? Fine, then I'll just check the security footage."
Without waiting another second, Eddie strode out.
Coco froze, stunned.
She thought about stopping him, but it was already too late.
Eddie reviewed the entire incident—and his fury was palpable.
"This is the ‘queen bee' you were talking about? You really are unbelievable!" He jabbed a finger right at Coco's nose, voice sharp with anger.
