The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 967

Gazing out the window at the cityscape rushing by, Danielle felt a wave of warmth spread through her. She knew Gian was worried about her and understood that Lorie’s invitation might not be entirely innocent. Finally, she nodded. “Alright. Thank you for doing this.”

After hanging up, Danielle sent the restaurant’s address to Gian, and the anxiety that had been simmering within her began to fade. With Gian by her side, at least she wouldn’t have to face Lorie’s potential barbs or Alexander’s complicated stares alone.

At six o’clock sharp, Gian’s car pulled up in front of Danielle’s apartment building. He was dressed in a dark suit and held a coat in his hand. The moment he saw her walk out, he went to meet her. “It gets windy at night. Put this on so you don’t catch a cold.”

Danielle took the coat and draped it over her shoulders, a warm feeling blossoming in her chest. “Thank you, Gian, but you really didn’t have to go to all this trouble.”

“It’s no trouble,” Gian said as he opened the car door, gallantly shielding her head as she got in. “Let’s go. We shouldn’t keep them waiting.”

The car drove smoothly towards the exclusive private restaurant. The ride was quiet, with Gian occasionally breaking the silence to ask about the progress at Ninesky Labs, easing her tension. Danielle watched his focused profile as he drove, her heart filled with gratitude. Gian always seemed to appear exactly when she needed him most.

When they arrived at the restaurant, Alexander and Lorie were already there. Lorie’s smile faded slightly upon seeing Gian accompanying Danielle, and Alexander’s brow furrowed.

Gian casually draped an arm around Danielle’s shoulder and walked to the table, his voice calm. “Mr. Davidson, Miss Gaylord, my apologies. The traffic was a bit heavy, so we’re late. I wasn’t comfortable with Danielle coming alone, so I came with her. I hope we’re not intruding on your farewell dinner.”
