She spoke coldly and hung up the phone.

Rafferty had caused trouble—naturally, it was their responsibility to deal with it. As for him, she didn't want to get involved, not even a little.

Danielle drove to the preschool.

By the time she arrived, several parents were already there to pick up their children.

Niki stood opposite Raffy, hands on her hips. "Raffy, if you keep acting like this, there's no hope for you!"

Raffy clutched the remote for his toy airplane, looking utterly unfazed. "They're the ones who walked right into my plane's line of fire!"

"If you want to play with my toys, then don't come so close."

Lately, Raffy had become a tyrant at preschool. He boasted about everything, flaunted his toys, and cared little for learning.

He sneered at Niki. "What? You want to see what my plane can do to you, too?"

Millie's mom had told him once—

No one at preschool could bully him, no matter what he did. She'd always be there to back him up. Not like his own mother, who only ever made him apologize and change his ways whenever there was trouble.

Someone who really loved him would never try to restrict what he liked to do.

Millie's mom was the one who truly spoiled him!

When the teacher spotted Danielle, it was as if reinforcements had arrived. "Mrs. Davidson! Thank goodness you're here!"

"You're Rafferty's mother, aren't you?"

One of the parents—a tall man with a stormy face—stepped forward, barely containing his anger. "Your son hurt my kid. What are you going to do about it?"

Danielle looked at the parent and replied calmly, "I'm sorry, but I'm not his mother."

"You're not? Trying to dodge responsibility? We all know Monica and Rafferty are your twins."

Danielle glanced at Niki and noticed a smear of blood on her small hand.

Her heart lurched. She hurried over, taking Niki's hand to inspect it. "What happened?"

"Raffy tried to hit me with his toy plane. I knocked it down, then he tried again, and finally the teacher came…"
