The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 267

“Millie?” Gian raised an eyebrow, trying to read her expression.

“Yeah.” Danielle slipped her phone away, eyes glinting with a trace of mockery. “She just called to brag—landed two more clients in a row, wanted to invite us to her victory dinner.”

Gian let out a short, cold laugh. “She’s got guts, I’ll give her that. But let’s see if she can actually hold onto what she snatched.”

She was so eager to flaunt her success, you’d think she’d just conquered the world or something.

Danielle smiled lightly. “We’ll see how long that lasts.”

Meanwhile—

After Millie hung up the phone, Liam couldn’t wait to ask, “So? What did she say?”

“She’s not coming.”

Liam took a sip of his wine, crossing his legs and swirling the glass with practiced ease.

Just as expected.

“Knew it. Of course she wouldn’t show her face. She’s got nothing—clients can see right through that. No real skills, no real connections.”

She probably realized it herself—showing up would just be humiliating.

He glanced sideways at Alexander. “Alex, lucky for you you’re getting divorced. Having a wife like that at home? She’d be nothing but an embarrassment.”

“Seriously, both companies do tech development, but look—AetherX Dynamics just opened and they’re already landing deals left and right. They’ve got control of all the core projects, while Ninesky can’t even sign a single contract.”

“Kind of makes you wonder if there’s a problem at the top, no?”

Liam kept going, analyzing the situation. “Watch, the one company they do end up working with will probably turn out to be a dud. All that hype they talk—probably just smoke and mirrors.”

Millie’s expression stayed calm, listening to his words, turning them over in her mind.

After a moment, she shook her head. “It’s not that they’re a shell company. Someone’s just dragging them down.”
