The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 157

Keegan's assistant leaned in, murmuring something in his ear. Without another word, Keegan stood and left the lounge.

"Let them do as they please."

Gian watched Keegan's retreating back, his tone sour. "He's got some nerve, that one. Birds of a feather, all of them."

"I used to think he was the consummate professional—totally impartial, all business," Danielle muttered, her brows knitting together.

She'd already pieced together what was really going on. After all, they all moved in the same circles, and these tit-for-tat vendettas weren't exactly unheard of.

Gian was so angry, he was ready to cut ties with Sentinel Group entirely.

But now that Danielle was anchoring Ninesky, it was only a matter of time before the tables turned. Once this project was complete, they'd have companies knocking on their door, begging for a partnership.

Besides, Sentinel Group wasn't the only game in town for specialty materials. There was no need to hang themselves from one tree and get nothing but grief in return.

Danielle took a steadying breath, pushing aside her irritation as she unraveled the whole incident in her mind, refusing to let her emotions or misunderstandings cloud her judgment.

After finishing all the detailed specs and data reports for the materials, she made sure everything was organized and ready for future reference.

It wasn't until after the press conference that Danielle learned Alexander had taken Millie to the hospital.

He'd always been fiercely protective of Millie. But now, Danielle found she simply didn't care anymore.

Gian, on the other hand, only wished Danielle and Alexander would just get their divorce over with already.

Back at Ninesky, the team gathered to analyze Sentinel Group's press conference, dissecting every detail.

When they finally wrapped up, Kirsten slung an arm around Danielle's shoulder. "It's Friday! C'mon, let's blow off some steam at the bar tomorrow night."

Danielle shook her head. "I can't. I promised Niki I'd take her out."

"Again?" Kirsten frowned. "Danielle, you never take any time for yourself. You work all week, and on weekends you're with your daughter. What about your own fun? Don't you care about your own happiness?"

Danielle's gaze fell, thoughtful.

Her own time—

In her previous life, she'd never had it. She'd always put herself last, revolving around the Davidsons and sacrificing everything for their sake.
