The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 139

Maybe it was Millie's.

She tried the key, and the lock clicked open.

Inside, the house was bright with lights. Raffy was sprawled on the living room floor, playing with a toy car.

He'd clearly heard her ring the bell, but had no intention of letting her in.

Upstairs, Julia was tidying up and hadn't noticed the doorbell.

When Danielle stepped in, rain-soaked and dripping all over the entryway, Raffy scowled at her. "Now the floor's going to be all dirty—again."

Danielle shot him a glance but said nothing.

Her head spun and her limbs felt weak. The chill had finally caught up with her—she was burning with fever.

Just then, Julia came down the stairs, surprised to see Danielle. "Ma'am, you're back? You're soaked! You should take a hot shower, quickly."

"I'll be fine." Danielle looked at her. "Did any packages arrive from overseas today?"

Julia thought for a second. "Actually, yes—there was one. Let me go find it."

Danielle nodded and waited in the living room.

The cold had seeped into her bones, making her shiver uncontrollably.

Raffy got up from the sofa and eyed her.

"If you want to make it up to me, you can drive me to school tomorrow, make me lunch, and give me a bath tonight. Then I'll forgive you and let you stay."

"Julia's always messing things up anyway—you can help her."

"My mom says you're working as someone's assistant out there. Why not come back and be my assistant? I'll tell Dad to pay you."

Danielle listened, the words stinging more than she'd care to admit.

Was this really coming from a four- or five-year-old? Raffy had always been a handful, but never like this.

She fought to stay upright, her gaze cold as she looked at him. "I won't have anything to do with you anymore."
